I was relieved to see finally this cute lil boy has rolled over after like almost a month's attempt. Those tiny setback about his heavy butt at last defeated by his willingness to see world around more clearly. Congrats Firas! Kudos to you...
This entry is primarily about Firas being my 2nd son since there's no specific milestones of his existence recorded here. I wish those memories of having him in my belly almost 10 months exact & the moment of delivering him are still well-stored in my brain-processor.
The first difference I figured out when my pregnancy was confirmed at 6 weeks was my appetite. I didn't eat like I starved out my ass off. I was very calm yet excited since my 1st son, Farihin reached his 4th yr. Farihin's gonna have a sibling!! Yaay... Actually, we expected it as we planned to have a 2nd baby. I deeply wanted a baby girl, of course. But, honestly I didn't care at all. If Allah granted us a girl, it's like a bonus. If it's boy, it's a double bonus. We'd have a new baby anyway, and Farihin would get a great companion by having a brother.
The thing was, I had this damn morning sickness so badly. Four months long. I never had any before. Probably just a mild dizziness when I sit or stand too long. But, this time it was totally different. I don't like ice cream (Baskin Robbin that most of the time, I hardly resist), I can't drink milk/soy bean (yucck!!). I definitely would throw up after meal especially if the food was spicy. I easily get this dizziness even when I didn't do nothing. I woke up freshly in the morning with a full spirit, head to the bathroom for a nice cold shower and after got dressed up - tingggg, I felt helpless, downright motivated. Those dizzy really got me killed. I finished my AL before time. I was so frustrated that my work performance became worst by then.
I also put on weight half less that my first pregnancy experience. Imagine, I gained almost 25 kilos during Farihin, but with Firas it's more less around 11-12 kilos. It's just that, I already overweight. It doesn't matter at all. My enthusiasm on practicing those tips for having a smooth & silky skin baby gone nowhere. I only consumed those medicines given by the clinic particularly those folid acids & obimin plus. During 7 months, I have taken like 6-7 sachets of Berrygen (collagen drink from Beauty Nature @ Tupperware) just to fulfill the routines. My appearance? Totally sucks. I wore lipstick 1 out from 100 days. Sometimes my clothes were crumpled and I didn't even notice them. My skin also went darker than before. Simply said, I was at my great ugliness that time.
I preferred not to mention things happened during my 37 weeks to where I'll have my tears on my cheek. Finito. However, I'd love to tell few things happened when my pregnancy was nearly due time. As previous, I never experience any sign of contraction @ broken water @ bleeding. N.E.V.E.R. It's the headache that bring me to visit a Hospital before due. Assuming that could be the sign of pre-clampsia (high BP during pregnancy), husband drove me to Hospital Selayang. I was 39 weeks 4 days, I guess. The most scariest moment when you're in the middle of examination room, the Dr asked "please take off your panties"or whatsoever you call them. Oh. My.God. I hated it badly. The call it, check cervix for dilation where the Gynae will put through his/her finger into your female organ to help determine if the labor may start soon. I had a headache remember? Not a contraction. But, admitting that they are the doctors, I pretended to allow whatever they want to do. The fun part is I'd love to hear doctors' elaboration. Dilate, 1 on 10 bla bla... 1cm tight...bla blah... They sounds so expert, weren't they? As a result, my BP was ok and it turned out I was 100% healthy. Labor won't start soon as there was not dilation, only 1cm perhaps. So, I went back.
Then next night, I was supposed to do a BP monitor since my blood pressure remained at borderline after my father passed away. See, what's the dangerous thing of having high BP during your 3rd trimester is the possibility of suffering from pre-clampsia. It's a medical condition in which hypertension arises in pregnancy known as the most common of the dangerous pregnancy complication. It affects both the mother and unborn child. Scary isn't? In some cases, where it's severe - it's a life-threatening condition to both. It was after shower, that I fell on my buttock badly on the bathroom floor. So bad that I had nothing to say. Just a pain around my thighs. My husband screamed, he failed to grab my hand. The cause was I slipped my steps on the ram at the bathroom door. Suddenly, there's no movement at all in my belly. I was afraid like hell and started to cry. We then went to 3 clinics. Three okay? But none of them able to do scanning. To my horror, the last doc said she afraid there might be a placenta abruption where the placenta lining has separated from the uterus (uri tercabut) because of the fall. Finally, we decided to go to the hospital again. Alhamdulillah, on our way to the hospital the baby (Firas) has started to move again. Scan result showed no harm and I was so relieved/grateful.
I was planned to get admitted for induce on the 3rd Sept but I gave birth to Firas on 5th September instead of on 4th (EDD). Not much trouble occurred in labor room as I was so determined to go through a vaginal birth. Not C-Sect anymore. Guess what? I was successful all the way with the help from my husband & a nice nurse that I didn't know her name. Firas came out with 3.55kg weight. Safe and sound with only a slight problem to breath. He hardly cried when I saw him between my legs first time ever. So, the doctor hurried to the nursery to examine his condition. He's back to my arm adorably fine. All the pains gone. With only one look at those tiny little baby in your embrace. I sank in an awe (like a daydreaming). I immediately call him Firas as that's the ultimate name chosen if I had a boy.

So, here are pic of Firas. See the difference? The first pic was from the day he was born with blanket wrapped around him. Next to it, the pic my friend snapped when we went over her house on 23 Jan 2011. As the 2nd pic is after he's been shaved on his head (less than 1 month old) with a pic we took at Alamanda on 20th Jan 2011. He's a bombshell, isn't he? I fell in love with my own blood cause he looks so cute with that bib. I would go through a 10 times pregnancy thing over this handsome boy. But, that's not gonna happen in real. Those family thing, we have plan on our own. :-p
Here are my motivation story to pregnant ladies out there who wish to go for vaginal birth after cesarean experience:
- always positively think that you'll be able to give birth normally not by operation- for Muslim, pray in your solat as hard as you can. I woke up few times in the middle of midnight to perform solat & pray that Allah grant my wish.
- drink lots of water.- learn how to breath and push the right way.
- if possible, tell your mid-wife/nurse that you want to 'by hook or by crook' deliver your baby normally and ask for her support when you're in labor ( Well, I personally did this. Spontaneously in the labor room).
So, as Firas already did his first roll over, I look forward to see more his physical achievement. Soon when he gets his first crawl, I'll promise to tell the story about it.
